Privacy policy

Who we are

Wilt Valencia Taekwondo Martial Arts Academy ("WVT", "we", "us") runs Taekwondo classes at branches in Metro Manila and Cavite. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and the rules of the National Privacy Commission.

What we collect

When you book a free trial class on this website, we collect:

• the parent or guardian's name;
• the student's name and age;
• your chosen branch;
• your mobile number for Viber or SMS;
• your email address;
• anything you choose to tell us about the student, such as autism, ADHD or an injury. This can be sensitive personal information, so please share only what helps the coach prepare;
• whether you agreed to this policy, whether you want to receive offers by email, and whether you allow us to feature your child in photos;
• basic details about how you reached the site, such as the page address and the ad or link you came from (for example UTM tags and Facebook click IDs).

Why we use it

• to book your trial class and send you the confirmation and reminders by SMS, Viber or email;
• to prepare the coach, especially when a student needs extra support;
• to follow up with you about classes and packages after your trial;
• only if you ticked the box for it: to send you news, promos and special offers by email, even if you were not able to attend your trial class;
• to understand which ads and pages bring families to WVT, so we can improve them.

We use your information because you consent to it when you submit the form. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (see below).

Email offers

We send news, promos and special offers by email only to people who tick the box for it on the form. You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, by replying "unsubscribe", or by contacting us (see below). Unsubscribing from offers does not cancel your trial booking.

When you buy an ebook

When you buy an ebook from our website, we collect:

• your full name, email address and mobile number;
• your order details: the ebook, the amount, the date, and how you paid (for example QR Ph, GCash or Maya);
• payment references from PayMongo. We never see or store your GCash, Maya or bank login details;
• how many times your download link was used;
• if you arrived through an affiliate's link, which affiliate referred you;
• whether you asked to receive tips and new books by email.

We use this to:

• confirm your payment and email you your ebook and receipt details;
• send you a new download link when you ask for one;
• stamp your name and email on your personal copy of the ebook, to discourage sharing. Please keep your copy for your own use;
• handle refunds and questions about your order;
• only if you ticked the box: send you tips and news about new books by email (through MailerLite).

We keep order records for as long as the law requires for business and tax records (generally up to ten years), and we stop sending tips as soon as you unsubscribe.

Book reviews

If you rate or review one of our ebooks, we keep your star rating, your review, the name you give us and your email. Your rating, review and name are shown on the book's page; your email is never shown. We use it only to check whether you bought the book from our website (so we can mark your review “Verified buyer”), to keep one review per person, and to contact you about your review if needed. You can ask us to change or remove your review at any time.

Affiliates

If you join our invite-only affiliate program, we keep your name, email, mobile and GCash number, the clicks on your link, and the commissions you earn, so we can track sales and pay you. Affiliates never see the names or contact details of the people who buy through their link. When someone clicks an affiliate link, our website stores a small cookie for 30 days to remember which affiliate referred them.

Photos of students

We feature a student in photos on our website and social media only if a parent or guardian allows it. You can change your mind at any time, and we will stop using new photos of your child and remove existing ones where we reasonably can.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• WVT staff and coaches who need it to run your trial and follow-ups;
• service providers that store or process data for us, under their own security and privacy terms: Google (Google Sheets), our website host (Vercel), PayMongo (payments), Supabase (order records and ebook storage), Resend (sending emails) and MailerLite (email newsletters, only if you opted in);
• government authorities when the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics

This website may use Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure visits and the results of our ads. These tools use cookies and similar technology. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the website will still work.

How long we keep it

We keep trial booking information for up to two (2) years after our last contact with you, unless you enroll (then we keep it for as long as you are a student and as required by law), or you ask us to delete it sooner.

How we protect it

Access to booking records is limited to authorized WVT staff. We use secure (HTTPS) connections and password-protected accounts, and we review who has access regularly.

Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act, you have the right to:

• be informed about how your personal information is used;
• access the personal information we hold about you;
• correct information that is wrong or out of date;
• object to its use, or withdraw your consent;
• ask us to delete or block it;
• get a copy of it in a commonly used format;
• claim damages if you are harmed by misuse of your information;
• file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).

Children

Trial bookings for students under 18 must be made by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child sent us information without permission, contact us and we will delete it.
